City of Chula Vista –
Mountain Hawk Park

Mountain Hawk Park is a 13-acre neighborhood park with spectacular views of Lower Otay Reservoir and nearby mountains. It includes a parking lot, restroom building, amphitheater, tot lot, three picnic areas, lighted basketball court and two multi-use sport fields. The legend behind its name, a magical story of a mountain hawk that befriended a rabbit, is inscribed on monuments throughout the park.

 

 

Port of San Diego – Imperial Beach Pier Plaza

The Portwood Pier Plaza includes a retail commercial center; park; public restrooms; performance stage; and public art called “Surfhenge,” a sculpture featuring high surfboards with fiber-optic cables that light up at night. An upgrade included new restroom facilities, a tot lot and picnic facilities.

The adjacent Safety Center consists of a four-story lifeguard tower, a sheriff’s office, training and community room, kitchen, weightlifting room, and a garage.
