Oceanside Pier Resort

Oceanside Pier Resort Street Lighting

BSE prepared electrical construction documents and calculations for the installation of city- mandated street lighting adjacent to the Oceanside Pier Resort. The project included street lighting for one city block surrounded by Myers Street, Civic Center Drive, Pacific Street and Pier View Way.

The streetlights and poles provide a pedestrian-friendly environment for this urban area and conform to the City of Oceanside standards. The project required coordination with SDG&E for the appropriate electrical connection points; it also provides power to the streetlights on a neighboring block.

Port of San Diego

Port of San Diego – Harbor Drive Street Lighting

The project upgraded the street and area lighting on Harbor Drive between Broadway and the Coast Guard Station, and on Laurel Street between Harbor Drive and Pacific Highway. Existing 4.16 kV series lighting along Laurel Street was also removed and replaced. The main objective of the project was to light the 200-foot wide roadway, parking area, and pedestrian walkway along Harbor Drive. This is an extremely wide area to provide uniform illumination without having two or three different rows of lighting fixtures and poles. High mast light fixtures were chosen on 35-foot poles that would light the roadway and parking area. Separate lights were provided along the pedestrian walkway to provide a pedestrian friendly atmosphere. The lighting layouts and fixture placement were critical to meeting the illumination requirements within the project budget.
